Portrait Painting with Rebecca Jones
Rebecca is a predominately self-taught artist who has studied at the Emily Carr University of Art & Design and with Artist Linda Jones. Rebecca’s work ranges from photo realism to expressionism, but her passion lies in portraiture. In this class you will enter the intimate world of portraiture and learn the importance and skills of capturing the unique essence of your subject.
Participants will be supplied with charcoal and a canvas to get them started on their journey. Rebecca will guide students through the process, from beginning to end, of creating a portrait. Beginning Wednesday, March 31st 6-8pm This class runs for 6 weeks. $225.00 Plus supplies
We are delighted to announce that Violette, author of Journal Bliss, will be at The Crow for a variety of inspiring workshops. Participants will be exploring a variety of techniques and mediums that can be applied to card making, scrapbooking, journaling, altered arts, ATC's and much, much more. There will also be a variety of supplies on hand to try out. More details of the workshops is available on Violette's page on our website. We also have Violette's book on display and some samples of her work come by and take a peek.
Egg Tempera/Gold Leaf Workshop Egg tempera has been used as a painting medium for hundreds of years. The medium lends itself to creating paintings rich in miniature detail. In this one day workshop, Victoria Heryet will instruct us on how to make our own egg tempera paints using dry pigments. We will learn how to prepare a painting surface and tips and techniques using this medium combined with gold leafing techniques. An image will be created on a supplied miniature (3x5) board. This workshop is very POPULAR, early registration is highly recommended to reserve your seat.
Stamp making with Amie Roman
Do you love to incorporate stamping into your scrapbooking or mixed media work? Are you looking for a new creative way to make ATC's, greeting cards or gift tags? Join local printmaker Amie Roman (www.amieroman.ca) as she teaches you how to create your own stamps from scratch! Design, carve, and print your own stamps using simple tools and non-toxic,easy clean up materials. Participants will take home their own hand-carved stamps and the knowledge and skills to create more at home. Some supplies required and lots included info at the shop.
Creativity 101 with Victoria Heryet - This is an invitation to everyone – both beginners who aspire to be creative artists, and established artists wishing to expand their creativity – to turn off the tv. Brush the cobwebs off and reconnect with your creative Mojo. Come and take steps on your creative journey. Push your creative work to new levels as Victoria guides you through weekly challenges that will get your creative spirit soaring.
