We are pleased to be presenting an ever expanding array of classes and workshops with some terrific instructors.

A variety of workshops await the creatively minded and inspired.

Portrait Painting with Rebecca Jones

Rebecca is a predominately self-taught artist who has studied
at the Emily Carr University of Art & Design and with Artist Linda Jones.
Rebecca’s work ranges from photo realism to expressionism, but her passion lies in portraiture. In this class you will enter the intimate world of portraiture and learn the importance and skills of capturing the unique essence of your subject.

Participants will be supplied with charcoal and a canvas to get them started on their journey. Rebecca will guide students through the process, from beginning to end, of creating a portrait.

Beginning Wednesday, March 31st 6-8pm

This class runs for 6 weeks.

We are delighted to announce that Violette, author of Journal Bliss, will be at The Crow for a variety of inspiring workshops.

Participants will be exploring a variety of techniques and mediums that can be applied to card making, scrapbooking, journaling, altered arts, ATC's and much, much more. There will also be a variety of supplies on hand to try out. More details of the workshops is available on Violette's page on our website. We also have Violette's book on display and some samples of her work come by and take a peek.

  Don a pair of magical boots and come along on an exhilarating adventure to find Journal Bliss. It doesn't matter if your magical boots are real or imaginary; all we have to do is let go and listen to our intuition, and they will guide our steps on an amazing journey.
  Create a visual journal for self-expression and understanding. Create juicy back grounds, doodle to your hearts content (even if you thought you never could), and craft your own lettering to fashion personal, artistic pages full of meaning. You will learn almost anything can become an idea for a journal page and get plenty of inspiration for conjuring up dazzling journal pages when your creative well runs dry.
  Violette author and creator of Journal Bliss will be joining us in the fall for this all day workshop.
This workshop will also explore a multitude of various mediums, papers and mark-making techniques

Painting classes with Bortolo Marola

We are very pleased to announce that we are in the process of

setting a series of acrylic painting classes with Bortolo Marola.

Richard Salley

Richard Salley will be at The Upstart Crow for 3 one day workshops in July 2011. We have begun a wait list for those whom are interested in these workshops.
